Who is behind OnlyCuraçao
Sigmar Hous is the founder, publisher and responsible editor of OnlyCuraçao. His connection to the island shapes the subjects we cover: not only beaches and hotels, but Papiamentu, local food, Willemstad neighborhoods, Bandabou and the practical choices that change an entire trip.
Living in the Netherlands also makes the questions of Dutch travelers familiar: which flight really costs less after baggage, whether a rental car is necessary, where to stay and what must be arranged before departure.
Why the site exists
Too many destination pages repeat the same short list without explaining the trade-offs. OnlyCuraçao is designed to help a reader make a decision: a quiet cove or a beach club, city evenings or a west-coast base, a rental car or organized transport.
The goal is to help visitors plan with more respect for the island, spend thoughtfully with local businesses and see Curaçao as a living place rather than a collection of photo stops.
How we create guides
Every guide starts with a real traveler decision. We add local context, compare the practical options and check changing facts against primary sources such as the Curaçao Tourist Board, Curaçao International Airport, CARMABI, UNESCO, the Digital Immigration Card portal or the business responsible for a service.
